the blue centerlight

for those of you wondering where the name of my Australian blog came from, *the blue centerlight* is part of a quote from Kerouacs *On the Road* - one of my new favorites. this mostly autobiographical work was completed in only 3 weeks! it consists of a sort of rambling spontaneous confessional prose detailing out a road trip across the US and his relationships with some of the other beat authors and unconventional intellectuals of the day. so here it is, the quote that influenced me and this blog and my journey to Oz:

  2. Oh wow, that book. Maybe I should go back and give it a 2nd shot. It's the only book I never read from HS english. We had an in-class essay test on it (as in we got to class, had an hour and a half to write an essay on one of three topics he gave us as we arrived). I couldn't decide if I was happy or totally disillusioned that I got a B+ on the darn thing. Without reading the book. Oi.
